Update: Fr. Mark Kreider, pastor of St. Justin the Martyr Parish in Toms River, posted the following message on the church's website.
, a car crashes into a church building. Fortunately, no one was injured. This is the most important thing. However, the building sustained extensive damage. As a result, the Toms River Township Building Department deemed the narthex portion of the building unsafe.
Our insurance company immediately called in repair personnel to correct the situation. Men work hard. Tomorrow the township will decide if we can use the building this weekend. I will update you once the decision is made. Our website and Facebook page should be checked for current information instead of other sources.
I would like to thank the Toms River Police Department, who as always were very professional and helpful, the EMS workers, the Toms River East Fire Department and everyone who responded to this accident.
